GymQuest Accreditation Criteria

Outlined below are the criteria for GymQuest Gold and Platinum accreditations.

 

When a provider meets each requirement, they are awarded the corresponding certificate of accreditation, recognising their commitment to best practices in safety, inclusivity, and quality.

Platinum background

Platinum Accreditation Criteria

Providers seeking Platinum accreditation must meet all Gold-level criteria and demonstrate full inclusivity by providing accessible facilities and sessions for all abilities.

Inclusivity Requirements

• Accessible toilets, wheelchair ramp, and hygienic pad disposal system

• Evidence of accommodating fully able individuals alongside those with special needs

• Mixed ability classes allowing special needs participants to engage alongside mainstream friends and siblings

Codes of Conduct

• Coaches, Officials & Volunteers Codes of Conduct
• Code of Conduct for Parents / Supporters
• Codes of Conduct for Participants
• Open Constitution
• Equity Policy Statement

Child / Vulnerable Person Protection

• Protection Policy Statement
• Protection policy and procedures
• Minimum of 1 child protection-trained officer
• Appointed Child Welfare Officer with Role Description & Enhanced CRB / DBS Check
• Enhanced CRB / DBS Checks for all coaches and volunteers

Health & Safety

• First Aid Procedures & Provision
• Emergency Procedures
• Registration forms with emergency contact details
• Medical questionnaires for all participants
• Signed consent forms for participants under 16 and those with learning disabilities
• Accident/Incident report form
• Minimum of 1 First Aid Qualified person on duty
• Risk Assessments for the venue

Coaching Programme

• Level 2 qualified coach leading all sessions
• Attendance Registers
• Volunteer Role Descriptions
• Development programme with progress tracking
• Minimum of 1 person trained in Child Protection and Disability Awareness
• Public Liability Insurance for coaches
• Appropriate coach-to-participant ratio
• Development / Action Plan
